THANK YOU TIE

By: Adopt-A-Pilot Crew

THANKS TO PALMER CATHOLIC ACADEMY FOR SHARING THIS STORY!

When the Adopt-A-Pilot classes were asked to brainstorm a creative way to say thanks to our "adopted Southwest Pilot Dick C., the options ranged from a simple thank you note to things he could put in an office or "where he works."  After explaining his "office" changes every leg of a trip and to carry a gift from plane to plane wasn't practical, the class decided on a "Thank You Tie."  It seemed a unique, practical, and creative way to say thank you.

Here is the picture of the student-designed tie for Pilot Dick C. to wear and enjoy!  The bottom reads, "So Happy We (in red banner) Adopted A Pilot"....with the class signatures on the other side.Crain_tie_thank_you

Our favorite class activity and learning experience was Southwest Pilot Dick C. explaining how airplanes fly by using a hair blow dryer and ping-pong ball and demonstrating Bernoulli's Principle.  Talk about cool!  He even taught us aviation-related terms such as lift, thrust, drag, and gravity.  What fun!Crain_class_activity

Thanks Southwest and Pilot Dick C.!!!!

Sincerely....Ms. Corrigan and students

  1. I just added this marvelous tie to my Southwest jokes article... which I also blogged on my front page today. Now I will look for that tie on my future SWA flights! Best, Liz from http://gosw.about.com
